The much anticipated TV series “Fetele marinarului” (The sailor’s girls) debuted on February 1st, at 20.30, on Antena 1, with a 90 minutes pilot, introducing the viewers to a illustrious acting crew and to breathtaking scenes filmed on location in three different countries.
The story centers on a girl’s promise to her mother. The beautiful Jamila lives together with her mother, at the outskirts of the Morrocon harbor of Tanger. Close to her end, the mother confesses to her daughter a terrible secret: Jamila’s father is a Romanian sailor, Amza, whom abandoned her while being pregnant with his child. Much more than that, Jamila learns that she has a sister in Barcelona, Alesia. With her last breath, she asks her daughter for vengeance, thus Jamila embarks on a long journey to meet her sister and get vindication on the man who ruined their lives.
In Bucharest, Amza Trifan (the former sailor) is currently a prosperous business man who aspires to a political career. He is married to Virginia and has a spoilt son, Calin.
In the pilot episode, Calin is involved in a small car accident and falls instantly in love with his victim, a young medicine student, fact that will radically change the course of many of the protagonists’ destinies.
Featuring an impressive cast and picturesque scenes shot in Barcelona, Tanger and Odessa, the fascinating story runs every Monday to Tuesday on Antena 1, at 22.00.
