Intact Media Group’s TV division content strategy is reflected in significant audience appreciation in the first ten months of this year, as compared to 2013. The consistent appreciation of the entire TV division as well as of each TV channel places Intact Media Group on the leadership position on key time slots. Specifically, the upward trend of the audience figures has been a fact for several years, especially on the commercial target. Intact Media Group’s family of channels addresses different types of public, from all social spheres, ranging from mature, AB public to young audiences.
Intact Media Group’s TV channels audience figures increased on all time slots during January – October 2014 on the commercial target. Growing numbers are also present on All Urban and National targets.
While CME’s TV channels audience figures are on a declining slope on each time slot and on all targets, compared to the same period last year, the Antena Channels are market leaders during Day Time on the commercial public and also during four key time slots, on All Urban and National targets: Whole Day, Day Time, Access and Late Fringe.
Antena 1 showed significant audience appreciation on most time slots on the commercial target in the first ten months of this year. Intact Media Group’s generalist channel is absolute market leader during Day Time.
The only TV station focused on celebrity news and talk shows, Antena Stars, has the biggest audience growth of a TV channel in Romania between January – October 2014.
The channel for sophisticated women experienced important appreciation during January – October 2014, on most time slots. The biggest growth was during Day Time (+ 33%), compared with the same period last year.
Intact news television channel maintains its leadership amongst its niche and has the highest market share appreciation of a news channel, which places it in line with the generalist stations. Moreover, Antena 3 shows audience appreciation on all time slots, on the 18+.public.
Within the first ten months of the year, Intact Media Group’s TV channels were watched for at least one minute by 10.341.000 Romanians, on the national level. During the same period and on the same target, Antena 1and Antena 3 reached 8.676 million, respectively 8.676 million viewers.

At a Group Level, Intact Media Group’s TV channels grew their audience numbers on all time slots and on important targets in October 2014, compared to October 2013. Intact’s channels are absolute market leaders on the commercial target during Day Time, Access and Late Fringe.
An important performance is that Intact Media Group’s channels are audience leaders on all time slots on All Urban target and have important audience appreciation.
In October, Antena 1 offered its viewers a string of big international and local productions: “Hell’s Kitchen”, “SRC- The Romanian Comedy Service”, “Next Star”, “X Factor” “Tu cara me suena”, “Dancing with the stars, watched by millions of Romanians. These were accompanied by the daily strips – Neatza cu Razvan si Dani, Access Direct, Un show Pacatos, Mireasa pentru fiul meu and Observator, the main news bulletin. Antena 1 is absolute market leader during Access, Day Time and Late Fringe in October.
Undoubtedly, the record in terms of increasing audience figures is owned by Antena Stars especially by the morning show – Star matinal. The highest appreciation was 233% during the morning slot. Such growth is in line with the conceptual direction of this season “Toamna fara limite / Fall of no limits”.
The television for sophisticated women, Euforia TV, continues to offer l its viewers the most popular TV series., from the national absolute premiere “Downton Abbey”, one of the most appreciated TV productions to a new season of Dr. House and the new Scandinavian TV series plus the local production “Prodanca & Reghe: Fascinați de România”
Intact news television channel has reached remarkable audience growth comparable to those of the mainstream channels. Also, Antena 3 reconfirms its status as the most watched television during Romania’s most important moments. Antena 3 shows a 63% increase. In Prime Time, on 18+ Urban target,, + 74% during Access and + 61% during Late Fringe compared to the same month last year. Antena 3 remains the absolute market leader on the news channels niche in Romania.

During the first nine months of the year, Antena 1 is audience leader on key intervals. Antena 1’s market share increased on the commercial public during Whole Day, Prime-Time, Morning and Access, making it absolute leader during Day Time. On the national and urban target, Antena 1 leads the audience top channels during Day Time and Access.

Intact Media Group’s TV channels grew their audience numbers on all time intervals and on important targets in September 2014. The Antena channels are leaders during Morning, Day Time and Late Fringe on the commercial target in 2013, showing improvement from last year. An important performance is that Intact Media Group’s channels are audience leaders on all time slots on All Urban target and lead the audience top stations on the national target on important time slots.
September showcased the launch of Antena 1’s productions. Next Star held the first place on the most important targets, now in its fourth season. X Factor and Hell’s Kitchen were two of the most anticipated productions this fall and hold top places in audience charts. Hell’s Kitchen is a premiere on the cooking shows scene, being the first reality cooking show in Romania, which is following step by step the life of the contestants in the restaurant but also the relationships they build amongst themselves. In the gold edition of Te cunosc de undeva (Your face sounds familiar) thousands of viewers watched the spectacular transformations. The daily strips Acces Direct and Un show pacatos had a significant audience growth on all public targets,. The most important audience growth on the commercial public, compared with 2013, is during Morning time slot, when Neatza cu Razvan si Dani (the morning show) is aired. During Day Time, Antena 1 has no competition; Mireasa pentru fiul meu (May I call you Mom) has a leadership of 100%. Observator (the main news bulletin) has audience growth in September 2014 compared to the same month of last year. October brings to the Romanian public two new shows – Serviciul Roman de Comedie – Fun Factory” (The Romanian Comedy Service) and Danseaza printre stele (Dancing with the stars), the longest and most awarded dance format in the world.
Antena Stars is the TV station in Romania with the biggest growth rate this September, compared to the same period last year, in line with this fall’s campaign called “Toamna fara limite / Fall of no limits”. Star Matinal, Star Mag, Star News are constantly in audience tops, with numbers which compete with those of generalist stations. Rai’ da buni and Agentul VIP hold first positions in Antena Stars audience charts.
The strong upward trend of Antena 3’s market share continues in September. As the Indisputable audience leader within its news channels niche, Antena 3 holds first positions on all time slots, with a spectacular growth of 61% in Prime Time compared to September 2013.
The modern women television, Euforia TV, continues to spoil its viewers with the most popular TV series: “Downton Abbey”,(first season is aired exclusively by Euforia in Romania), “Dr. House” Season 6, “Sex and the city”. In October, “Prodanca si Reghe” reality show returns, with the adventures of the craziest gang in Romania. The new series is called “Prodanca & Reghe: Fascinați de România”. Moreover, Euforia reafirms its trendsetter statute on the women television niche, bringing three new TV series that are extremely popular in the Scandinavian countries: “Bron”, “Mammon” and “Vaduvele negre”.
ZU TV, recently integrated in Intact’s TV division, is already audience leader within its niche, on important time slots. Mihai Morar, ZU TV’s channel manager said that “starting this October, the accent will be on music, interactive games and short life-style clips”. Other shows that will be seen on ZU TV are a road-show, from the ZU Party caravan and a project where artists will sing in unconventional public spaces.
In September, more than 10 million Romanians watched for at least one minute Intact Media Group’s productions, at a national level. In Prime Time, the number of TV viewers was over 7.5 million.

Antena 3 is once again amongst the world’s television elite. Our TV station is nominated at the 35th edition of the Emmy Awards and we will be present at the Annual News & Documentary Emmy® Awards Ceremony on the 30th of September, in New York City.
International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced today that Antena 3 is one of the nominees for the “Current Affairs” category, with “The long journey home” produced by the team “În premieră cu Carmen Avram”.
“The long journey home”, winner of two Gold World Medals at the New York Festivals World’s Best Television & Film 2014, was produced by Denisa Morariu (reporter), Cristian Tamaș (image),Liviu Dochiţa (image), Mihai Dină (image), Adrian Robe (montage). The coverage tells the story of Petrică Câșlaru, the boy who grew up in the Siret concentration camp. The management and the employees of Intact Media Group have taken note with disapproval of the decision in the process involving the founder of the media trust, Dan Voiculescu. We believe that it is an intolerable abuse in a state governed by the rule of law.
This measure is an obvious attempt to intimidate the strongest news channel in Romania, Antena 3, and part of the Intact Media Group. Antena 3 is the only television which showed undeniable proves regarding corruption at the highest levels, culminating with the tapes which showed that the brother of President Basescu was bribed in order to use his influence in favor of a convict. After airing the incriminating footage, Mircea Basescu was arrested and the process of Dan Voiculescu was accelerated and abusively concluded. (more…)
July marked a boom in terms of audience numbers for Intact Media Group’s TV channels: the TV stations are audience leaders on most time intervals among the urban population: Whole Day, Day Time and Access. Antena 1’s new summer shows, Antena 3’s talk-shows, Antena Stars’ gossip shows, ZU TV and Euforia’s productions attracted an increasing number of young TV consumers.
Intact’s five TV stations were market leaders on the commercial population target (aged between 18 and 49), compared with July 2013.
On the urban population, Intact Media Group is market leader during Prime-Time, Whole Day, Day Time, Access and Late Fringe. The appreciation in terms of market share below is presented compared with July 2013:
Another important aspect is that Intact TV Stations’ audiences grew on all time slots and major targets (All Urban and 18-49, Urban), while the main competitor CME, TV stations experienced a decline in audience numbers on all time intervals, on both mentioned targets, compared with July, 2013.

IMG’s five TV channels experienced market share appreciation on all time intervals, while the main competitor went on a steep declining slope on all intervals.
The No. 1 entertainment television in Romania increased its market share, on the commercial target, on most time intervals. “Fire up the summer” is the TV station’s message which drove these important rating and market share coordinates .
The most important appreciation is during Prime-Time: Antena 1 launched new shows in the summer grid, which have been undisputed leaders compared to those of the competition. “Poftiți pe la noi!” and “Splash! Vedete la apa“ were market leaders from the first edition.” Burlăcița” is also amongst the first positions in young viewers top preferences. The veteran quiz show “Te pui cu blondele” is also amongst the top shows of the summer.
“Neatza cu Răzvan și Dani “, as well as Observator 06 are appealing to an increasing number of TV viewers.
“Un show păcătos” audience numbers are also on an upward curve, the market share percentage on this time interval increased with 10%.
The day time main attraction, “Mireasă pentru fiul meu” (May I call you mom) was the absolute leader during both time intervals it airs, every single day on the commercial segment, with an impressive leadership percentage.
Antena Stars is the TV Channel which has the most significant growth in terms of audience numbers in the local media landscape on all time intervals, on the commercial segment. TV viewers can watch live news and talk-shows, where on vogue celebrities are invited. The summer campaign “Toate fițele sus” received support from a record number of viewers who sent in selfies from their holidays.
Agentul VIP, presented by Cristi Brancu is number 1 in top audiences in July. “Asistentele”, “Test de fidelitate”, “Răi da’ buni”, “Dosarele VIP”, “Star News”, “Necenzurat”, “Star Magazine”, “Star Matinal”, “Star Chef” contributed to the growth of Antena Stars.
The leading news channel in Romania, Antena 3, shows significant growth on all day intervals among the + 18 public in July, compared with the same month last year. Market share growth can be seen on all time intervals.
Sinteza Zilei remains the most viewed talk-show in July; more than half a million Romanians on average watched this production. “În gura presei”, “Q & A”, “Punctul de întâlnire”, “Subiectiv”, “Panorama”, “La ordinea zilei”, “Secvențial”, “100 de minute”, “Esențial” are amongst the most popular shows of Antena 3.
The station targeting modern, active women continues the strong upward trend in terms of audience results from the last two years. The summer slogan is “Dare to live Euphoria”. In July, one of the big surprises the channel offered its viewers was the Hugh Laurie concert, known in Romania as “Dr. House “. Euforia TV experienced a growth of 125% in terms of market share during Morning segment and 33% during Access.
The most viewed productions are “Sex and the city” “Private Practice,” “Dr. House” and “Queen of Ambition.”
The newly launched TV channel ZU TV gains more and more 15-34 year olds every day. In July, the young public enjoyed shows such as Dl. Rimă, Zumaia,“Zu Kids on the Block”, “IHeartRadio Music Festival”, “Morning Zu” or “Grammy Awards”.

In July, Intact Media Group TV channels reached an average of 9.811.00 million viewers, on national level.

Intact Media Group’s TV channels reached 23.6% market share in June, one point up compared with June last year, for the urban public. The competing group, CME, downsized its market share by 2.2% compared to the same period last year.

Antena 1 has the highest quality TV programs in Romania, according to the first QUDAL – QUality meDAL research made in our country. The study is conducted by the Swiss organization ICERTIAS – International Certification Association GMBH, headquartered in Zurich, based on an online survey on a group of 1,200 Romanian citizens, internet users, aged over 15 years. The organization focuses on determining the level of satisfaction of the citizens regarding the quality of certain products and services. The research was conducted via an online questionnaire and comprised more than one hundred commercial and non-commercial categories. Regarding the TV stations category, the Romanians who participated in the QUDAL study answered “Antena 1” to the following question: “Specify the name of the television network holding a national concession in Romania that in your opinion has undisputedly the highest quality TV programs in Romania”. Antena Group announces that following the negotiations on the contract extension for the retransmission of Antena 1, Antena Stars, Antena 3, Euforia and GSP TV with Focus Sat, the parties have not reached an agreement regarding the commercial terms.
Thus, according to the letter 721/05.02.2014 sent by Focus Sat to our company, retransmission of Antena Group’s TV Channels on this platform will be discontinued starting February 6, 2014. (more…)
The commercial target up on all time slots for the group TV channels
2013 was an excellent year for Intact TV division. The TV stations increased their audience and strengthened their leadership position on most slots and target audiences. Many of Antena 1’s entertainment productions ranked as no1, while Antena 3 remains the leader in news programs, while Antena 2’s market share rose since its December relaunch as Antena Stars and Euforia TV rose by 15% in prime time.
Compared to 2012, the number of Romanians aged between 18 and 49 increased in 2013 on all time slots. The most important growth was during Morning, Day Time and Late Fringe. Intervals. The locally produced shows, series, documentaries, sports programs, and international attracted an increasing number of viewers for the commercial target. November signaled significant increase on the commercial target, for Intact’s TV division, as compared to the same period of 2012. The mega shows aired by Antena 1, local productions, celebrity or reality shows have attracted audience appreciation among viewers aged between 18 and 49 years old in urban areas. At the same time, the talk – shows of Antena 3, the productions of Antena 2, Euforia TV and GSP TV have contributed to this result. Day Time and Morning segments marked appreciation of 2.8%, respectively 2.7 market share.

Antena 3 received the Special Jury Prize (The AIB’s International Jury Highly Commends) at the Gala of International Media Excellence Awards 2013, awarded by The Association for International Broadcasting, for the “Angels in Hell“, investigation documented and produced by the journalists of the TV show “In Premieră with Carmen Avram.”
The video produced by Yevgeniya Kironaki (reporter), Michael Buzduga (image) and Lenard Zsolt (production) was awarded in the category “Domestic current affairs documentary” and depicts the situation of drug addicts in Romania and the activity of the association ARAS which tries to keep under control the spread of HIV, by providing the consumers with syringes and medical assistance.
